World History Paragraphs

Task
  • Write a single, concise, specific paragraph of 150-300 words.
  • Write a direct topic sentence and then include precise facts from the sources provided to support it.
  • Review each word, space, and punctuation mark for accuracy.

Sources
  • This is not a research assignment. Use only the sources provided to you by the teacher.
  • Cite your sources parenthetically, by document number or page number.
Due
  • Printed out, in the turn-in basket, before class on the assigned due date (no flexible late period on this assignment).
"Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences, for the same reason that a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This requires not that the writer make all his sentences short, or that he avoid all detail and treat his subjects only in outline, but that he make every word tell."
— The Elements of Style
