World History Exam Information

[1] Common Assesment

All world history students at North and South high schools will take the a common exam. There is a regular and honors version, but the content and skills assessed are nearly identical. This means you can study with any world history student in Grosse Pointe, regardless of who their teacher is.

[2] You don't need any "Secret Stuff"

The exam is challenging. You will need to demonstrate a deep understanding of patterns across civilizations. There are no surprises and no special formula. If you have been working hard all semester, you will do well.

[5] Review Materials

JANUARY EXAM GUIDE
ALL OLD STUDYGUIDEs
Completion of the studyguide is required  to earn a "curve" on the exam grade.

Do. Or do not. There is no try.

If you choose not to prepare over several days, you will do poorly. You need dedicated preparation and your honest top effort. Only then you will succeed.

[6] Study Plan

  • Start two weeks before exam.
  • Skim over the your old quizzes, along with your studyguides.
  • Make a list of questions you would get wrong today. You can't just look at what you got wrong on the quiz originally  because that doesn't account for what you've learned and forgotten since.
  • Make a study guide just with the concepts you don't know. Why so many students write down on their review sheets  information they already know  is puzzling.
  • Review your study guide for two days at 5-10 minute bursts.
  • Re-write your study guide by eliminating the items you now remember. You'll have a much shorter document. Keep your original to turn in.
  • Keep studying and re-writing. You'll have a very short list to look at just before you take the exam.
